To earn this microcredential, you must:

  • Attend all four days of the course

  • Submit your plan on Canvas for instructor review and approval

Cost

$100 (in addition to the course fee). This fee covers the evaluation of your submitted work, instructor review, credential processing, and issuance of a digital badge to showcase your achievement.

Instructors

  • Jodi Thesing-Ritter

    Jodi Thesing‐Ritter was director for the Center for EDI Training, Development and Education at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where she worked for 31 years. She provided leadership for diversity and inclusion for the campus, facilitates the Civil Rights Pilgrimage, taught in the Women’s Studies and Honors programs and provides ongoing training and development on issues of diversity and inclusion. Her research on the UW-Eau Claire Civil Rights Pilgrimage has been published in the book- Dark Tourism and Pilgrimage. Jodi received a bachelor’s degree in biology from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX, a master’s degree in student personnel administration from Columbia University and an education specialist degree from UW-Stout. She was honored with the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Excellence award from UW-Eau Claire and has received the UW System Board of Regents Diversity Award for her work with Blugold Beginnings. Jodi has also received a Program of the Year Award from the Wisconsin College Personnel Association (WCPA) and from the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) for the Civil Rights Pilgrimage. She provides training and development to organizations, businesses, PK-12 schools, colleges, and universities to help make their institutions more equitable and inclusive. Her top five Clifton Strengths are Activator, Developer, Strategic, Positivity, and Achiever.

  • Headshot of instructor Paige Sechrest

    Paige Sechrest has her PhD in political science from the University of Washington, specializing in Black political thought and comparative politics. In addition to studying political theory, Paige has also specialized in quantitative methodology, earning a certificate from the Center for Statistics in the Social Sciences at the University of Washington. In her current position at the University of Washington, her duties include delivering trainings around responding to and preventing gender-based violence and identity-based harassment. She also oversees the administration and analysis of an annual climate survey exploring experiences of identity-based harassment.

Cancellation Policy

We understand life happens. Should you need to cancel your registration, you may substitute someone to take your place, at any time, at no cost to you. If we cancel a program, we’ll give you your money back.

If your program is 14 or more days away:
You may transfer once to any currently available program – no charge!
If you have to cancel, you will receive a refund, minus a 20% administrative fee.

If your program is less than 14 days away:
You may transfer once to any currently available program, plus a 20% transfer fee.
If you cancel, you will not receive a refund.

If you are registered and do not attend the program, you are responsible for the full fee.
