Training to run a full or half marathon

Running a half or full marathon is just as much mental as is it is physical. This course will tackle both aspects through classroom discussion and weekend training runs. No matter where you start, you will have the tools and support you need to cross the finish line at the Eau Claire Marathon after our 14-week journey together.

Creating a marathon training plan

This course includes a 50-minute lecture covering wellness theory and running-related topics each week, along with a Saturday running session. It is suggested you train outside of the course times as well.

Topics will include:

  • Injuries
  • Strength training
  • Mental training
  • Physiology
  • And many more…

Who should attend

While all adults interested in distance running are welcome, this class is specifically designed for anyone, at any level, interested in running a half or full marathon! This course will provide you with the training tools to help you on this 14-week journey that culminates at the finish line at the Eau Claire Marathon. Enrollment is open only to those 18 and over.
