Become a Trained Cybersecurity Professional in Six Months or Less

Our six-month, 300-course-hour online Cybersecurity Boot Camp will help you earn the skills and credentials required to enter the cybersecurity workforce and pass the CompTIA Security+ certification exam—no previous experience is needed. The cybersecurity course curriculum features 17 engaging lessons across four key sections. Each section includes hands-on activities and a project that allows you to implement and test your newly acquired skills. You will begin by gaining an in-depth introduction to the fundamentals of cybersecurity and an exploration of the main cybersecurity certifications, job titles, and career opportunities. Next, you will identify security threats and vulnerabilities and learn how to manage and prevent attacks. You will also review essential security operation principles and technologies, concepts, and operating systems. In addition, you will also gain access to the Infosec Skills platform (six-month access) to leverage their extensive knowledge base to further your training.

By the end of the cybersecurity training, you will fully understand what role in cybersecurity best aligns with your career goals and become prepared to navigate challenging job interview questions. Your capstone project and the final course lessons will help you better find your first cybersecurity position and finalize your professional portfolio.

Upon successful boot camp completion, you will be provided with a voucher for the Security+ certification exam, which covers the cost to sit for the certifying exam upon eligibility.

Job Outlook for Cybersecurity Professionals

According to Gartner, the global cybersecurity market size is projected to reach $212 billion in 2025, representing a significant growth rate of around 15%. To meet increased demand, the industry needs more qualified cybersecurity professionals who are trained and certified to join the workforce.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the median yearly salary for information security analysts was $120,360 in 2023—with this profession expected to grow 33% by 2033, which is much faster than the average for all occupations.

Cybersecurity Boot Camp FAQs

What is cybersecurity?

Cybersecurity, also known as information technology security and electronic information security, is the practice of protecting sensitive information by defending computers, mobile devices, servers, networks, electronic systems, and data from digital attacks. Cybersecurity is often divided into categories. Some of the more common categories include network security, application security, information security, operational security, disaster recovery and business continuity, and end-user education.

Are cybersecurity boot camps worth it?

A cybersecurity boot camp is a great way to break into the industry and get a foot in the door, especially if you do not want to return to school for a 4-year degree at this time. A well-constructed cybersecurity boot camp will give you the foundational knowledge needed to protect the systems and information found in any business and find success in the exciting and ever-changing world of cybersecurity.

Is cybersecurity an in-demand career?

It has become increasingly difficult to implement effective cybersecurity measures because there are more devices than people globally, and cyber-attacks are becoming increasingly more innovative. IBM estimated that the average cost of a data breach in 2020 was 3.86 million USD globally and 8.64 million USD within the U.S., including expenses related to detecting and responding to a breach, the lost revenue and downtime, and the long-term reputational damage suffered by a business. Businesses are looking for professionals with the knowledge necessary to protect their valuable assets.

The BLS projects a 32% growth, which is much faster than the average job growth of 7.7% throughout all occupations in the U.S., excluding recovery from COVID-19.

Does this course prepare me for a cybersecurity certification?
